Chris Kuechenmeister is vice president of communications for Frito-Lay North America, the $14 billion convenient foods business unit of PepsiCo. In this role he is responsible for internal and external communications across employees, media, influencers, customers and other key stakeholders. Mr. Kuechenmeister sits on the executive leadership team for Frito-Lay North America, as well as PepsiCo’s global communications executive team.
Before serving in this role, Mr. Kuechenmeister led public relations strategy, reputation management and influencer engagement for Frito-Lay’s portfolio of snack brands, building national visibility and prominence for many of the company’s marquee marketing programs.
Prior to joining Frito-Lay in 2008, Mr. Kuechenmeister held multiple leadership roles on the agency side, including with Hill & Knowlton and PainePR, where he provided strategic counsel, issues management support and program management for a range of consumer and corporate clients.
He also served as public relations manager for Michelin North America where he led external communications for the flagship Michelin brand, while also supporting corporate reputation initiatives, crisis response and executive visibility.
Mr. Kuechenmeister is a native of the Detroit area and graduate of Michigan State University. His work has been recognized by various industry awards including the Silver Anvil Award, SABRE Award and PR Week Award.
